A concealable vest is always a good idea. Particularly if you are a security detail of a VIP and they need an armoured vest, and also if you are the VIP. A concealable vest provides all the benefits of the standard armoured vest in a safe and unassuming manner without announcing your well-preparedness to the world.

PRISCUS VIP Concealable Vest is designed to add an extra layer of protection. It is made from highly durable polycotton fabric, and along with ventilated mesh lining, ensures proper airflow, keeping you cool and comfortable. At roughly 2.0kg in weight, it’s also ultra-light, low profile and won’t weigh you down. With a 4-point Velcro enclosure on the shoulders and sides, the vest can easily fit different sizes.

The vest is certified for NIJ-STD-0101.06 IIIA threat level (the highest protection level for soft armour) and provides protective coverage on the front and rear as well as the lower sides. Its multi-layered UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) fabric is 15 times stronger than steel and is capable of mitigating multi-hit damage from common handguns and pistols like .44 MAG/9mm/.357SIG. The armour protection can further be upgraded with additional armour plates if required.

PRISCUS VIP Concealable Vest can be used by police officers, law enforcement agencies, security personnel, and VIPs.

NIJ Standards

NIJ Level IIIA is designed to stop .357 Sig FMG FN bullets traveling at a velocity of ~1470 ft/s and .44 Magnum SJHP rounds at a velocity of ~1430 ft/s. The updates for 0101.07 HG2 include testing requirements for 9mm FMJ with a velocity of ~1470 ft/s and changed the .44 MAG test to a JHP (jacketed hollow point) with the same velocity requirements.
-
NIJ Level III rifle plates are designed to stop six spaced hits of 7.62x51mm NATO FMJ M80 at a velocity of ~2780 ft/s. Level III+ is a designation that the industry has adopted to show the capabilities of armour beyond the NIJ Level III testing. This indicates that the plate can withstand higher velocity rounds plus additional threats such as M855 and M193. The NIJ intends to address this in establishing the RF2 category of the 0101.07 standard.
-
NIJ Level IV are the highest rated armour plates under the NIJ standards. They are designed to take one hit from an Armour Piercing 30.06 traveling at a velocity of 2880 ft/s. This test will remain the same for the 0101.07 standard.
